Description

*       Works in conjunction with other Engineering Design Systems (EDS) Staff, responsibilities include:

*       SmartPlant Electrical Project creation, including Plant Breakdown Structure, access rights, and naming conventions.

*       Management of catalog and typical data.

*       Implementation of Automation tools.

*       Setup and support of SPEL Interfaces, including Import Manager.

*       Working knowledge of integration with other disciplines using tools such as SmartPlant Foundation is a plus

*       May serve as a technical consultant within area of expertise.

*       Makes formal presentations to the customer or Company management.

*       May research, analyze, and organize statistics or other technical materials for specific occasions or on a scheduled basis.

*       Keeps well informed on current technology applicable to area of expertise.

*       May write and/or review articles written by others for publication in professional journals or for presentation at technical conferences.

*       Completes additional responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

*       BS or MS in related field or applicable discipline, typically an engineering degree; or equivalent experience if allowed by law. Generally 10+ years of related work experience including supervisory experience are typically required; relevant professional registration preferred.

*       Supervisor role has full responsibility for assignment of work and performance. Typically supervises professional or exempt personnel that may be in multiple, but similar function roles.

*       Proficient with engineering software applications. Computer proficiency required. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail important. Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities somewhat important. The ability to prepare, present and/or supervise the development of complex program proposals and reports to senior level management and customers is critical. Responsible for establishing project estimates and oversight of project budgets. Strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate in English and take a leadership role over the group for which they have supervisory responsibilities.

*       Commitment to customer service and ability to assist others in applying knowledge and understanding in solving functional problems within area of expertise. Ability to maintain confidential information critical.

*       Generally characterized as a "Supervising" with ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to business problems uncovered during course of performing assignments. Has less independent contributor responsibilities and more supervisory responsibilities. Provides oversight, expertise and guidance to less experienced individuals.

*       Typically will regularly interface with departmental staff and upper management, and frequently with outside customers.
